Humans feel loss more deeply than just about anything else. We are hard-wired to hang on to what we have, and it's all too easy to fixate on the empty place in our lives when we lose it.

But while we are focusing all our attention on the loss, we might be missing out on the new opportunities around us.

It is healthy to mourn a loss--necessary, even. But you can honor what is gone AND open yourself up for what is coming. They are not mutually exclusive.
